115 Admissions Information Session Event Highlights

On September 17, 2025, as the new academic year kicked off and incoming students were warmly welcomed, the Graduate Institute of Technology Management hosted its annual admissions information session. Thoughtfully organized over the course of a month by second-year master’s students, the event featured well-planned promotional campaign highlighting insights from faculty, alumni, and current students, who shared their academic journeys and learning experiences. The venue was packed to capacity with enthusiastic prospective applicants.
The session opened with a bilingual introductory video about the institute, created by second-year students during the previous semester. The video provided attendees with a clear and engaging overview of the institute. Following this, the information session officially began in a lively classroom filled with anticipation.
Distinguished faculty members in attendance included Director Hsiao-Hui Chen, Professor Mei Ho, Associate Professor Roy Yeh, and Associate Professor Jing-Jing Weng. Director Chen delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The host then introduced the faculty members, who shared insights about the student community and responded to attendees’ questions. They also highlighted the impressive career paths of alumni, showcasing the wide range of opportunities available to graduates.
The event then shifted into a highly anticipated interactive session, where attendees actively engaged with faculty on topics such as coursework and research interests, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for the program. Meanwhile, the organizing students set up a “consultation corner,” offering prospective applicants a chance to speak directly with current students. These conversations provided practical advice on the application process—covering document preparation and personal experiences—and helped ease applicants’ concerns while clarifying uncertainties.
Two inspiring alumni, Paul and Lynn, also shared their experience. Paul, who transitioned from a humanities background, shared how interdisciplinary learning empowered him to pursue his goals and offered relatable insights to attendees with similar academic backgrounds. Lynn, who returned to academia after years in the legal profession, described how the institute helped her redefine her career and embrace new challenges. Her talk resonated deeply with attendees from legal backgrounds, many of whom approached her afterward for guidance on how the institute could support their aspirations.
Overall, the event offered a vivid and inspiring glimpse into life at the Graduate Institute of Technology Management. It sparked curiosity, built connections, and opened new opportunities for prospective students ready to embark on their next academic and professional journey.
